After 18 months at Government Digital Service (GDS), I’ll be joining Homes England in March as their new Lead Delivery Manager.
GDS was my first foray into the Civil Service. Having solely worked in the private sector prior to joining GDS, it took me a while to adjust but I honestly can’t say enough positive things about my time here.
I worked with a highly talented team in TechOps, together we delivered some fantastic projects and saved thousands of pounds in the process.
This is the first place I’ve worked where there was a real community for Delivery Managers. This gave me the opportunity to learn from my peers but also share my experiences, which I found incredibly rewarding.
Being located in Aldgate East gave me the opportunity to work in the area I was born and raised in. I had spent the first 16 years of my life in this area and it was so nice to be back.
The work done here really matters, and I’m really proud of what we have achieved over the last 18 months.
The housing crisis is one of the biggest issues facing the UK today. It impacts people in my generation directly, so when I got the chance to play my part and make a difference was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.
They are embarking on an ambitious digital transformation, a process that will not only focus on releasing new software but also transforming the delivery structure and ways of working.
I can’t wait to get stuck in!
