I’d been looking forward to visiting Mecca and Medina and experience the 2 holiest sites in Islam for a long time. It was a truly incredible experience.
We went to Lisbon and Porto in May, a whole 12 months after we were originally due to visit both cities. Lisbon is cool. Porto reminded me of Tower Bridge.
When the boiler packed in for a third time, I knew we had to escape the arctic weather in London. We took a short trip to the small Portuguese island of Madeira. It’s not too far. The weather is great – even in December. Plenty to see, and it’s all relatively close by. Great seafood…
Marrakech is just vibes. The weather, the food, the architecture, the people. Just the whole place. It’s also changed a lot since the last time I visited in 2015, but it absolutely not lost any of it’s charm.
Istanbul is one of my favourite places in the world. You can go time and time again, and experience something different each time. There’s just so much to see and do.
